Christine Takengny

Christine Takengny joined the Contemporary Art Society as Manager for Public Collection Development in September 2011. She studied Art History and Education at the University of Stuttgart, Germany and MFA Curating at Goldsmiths College in London. She worked at Künstlerhaus Stuttgart, Documenta11 and Ulmer Museum and was Assistant Curator at Gasworks, GSK Contemporary and the Serpentine Gallery. In 2009 she received a grant from the Goethe Institute for a Curatorial Research Trip to South Korea, where she curated the exhibition Flexible Aura at Brainfactory, Seoul. As Associate Curator for Iniva she curated the exhibition Whose Map is it? New Mapping by Artists’ (Iniva, London, 2010). Other recent curated exhibitions and projects include ‘Truth: Connecting the Dots, Barthélémy Toguo, Transit (Transmission Annual, Artwords, London, 2011), ethKnowcentrix – Museums Inside the Artist (October Gallery, London, 2009), Weickmann’s Curiosity Cabinet – Hommage with Georges Adéagbo, Candida Höfer and Mathias Beckmann (Ulmer Museum, 2007) and Curating Fictions, a series of talks at the Whitechapel Gallery. She also works as Curatorial Advisor for LoBe in Berlin.
